Shantha Fernando, an Accountant by profession, has been with the Hotel for over a decade. Resurrecting the Hotel from the affects of Tsunami is a challenge Shantha has undertaken together with his staff of 32, and they have done tremendously well to ensure that the hotel is back on its feet and running again. Unrestrained by obstacles, Shantha currently markets the Hotel as a transit venue for tourists and a venue for wedding receptions for locals. His indomitable courage is to be admired and supported.

The hotel adheres to positive waste disposal practices, which are monitored closely by management. As the hotel is located close to the shoreline, they do what they can to help protect and ensure a clean, attractive local environment. This includes being responsible for numerous ‘cleaning patrols' of the beach by the staff and management.
