One of Geoffrey Bawa's earliest and most famous works of architecture. This hotel has been designed to match the genuine beauty of its surroundings; the Lighthouse is a combination of luxury hotel and majestic spa. The most distinctive upon entering the hotel is a sculptured metal balustrade enclosing a spiral staircase, which ascends to the roof top. It depicts a tale of the Dutch invaders, featuring the Sinhala king playing his flute and life-size horsemen in battle.
The hotel sits on a rocky outcrop above the beach with terraces sweeping down to the golden sands and the Indian Ocean. The hotel sits alongside a natural reef and bay, which is safe for swimming nearly all year round. The large pools and adjoining sundeck allow you to enjoy an unterrupted view of the blues and greens of sea and sky. Or stroll down through the gardens to the beachside and the Serena spa.

A most romantic setting for a most romantic dining experience featuring a selection of salads and soup, a grill of lobster, prawn and lots more followed by a plate of tropical fruit. The Adam & Eve Spa Dining Experience
Reserve the last ‘Adam & Eve’ Serenity of the day followed by a floral bath ‘Under the Stars’ with spritzers and canapés. A three course dinner by the spas plunge pool with a bottle of moet et chandon. A plunge between courses is recommended. Privacy assured. US$350 per couple.
The Sri Lanka Experience
A table laid out in the darkness of the palm fringed beach with the sounds and the touch of the waves washing ashore. Our Island's cuisine laid out for you in the privacy of ‘The Beach Cove’. US$75 per person.
In Sea Dining
A stage laid out on a flat rock in the sea • water flowing below. Cushions and low tables. A jug of Margarita for pre dinner, a bowl of salad for two, a table top grill of skewers and pieces with a wine to match followed by a dessert for two. A whistle to call for service. US$350 per couple.
