A luxurious 12 room hotel which provides the kind of calming influence that settles the nerves and relaxes the muscles. Taste buds are also in for a treat in the Cafe and Dining Room that opened some months ago and already has a following locally and from further afield. Staying in Galle Fort is itself an experience, but now there is a hotel to match its majesty.
Facilities & Services
At other meal-times, the food is an adventurous combination of Chinese and Thai flavours. It is overseen by Chris Ong, and is generally of better quality when he is in the kitchen himself. Expect Chinese favourites such as Pan Dan chicken, Thai staples like tom yang goon (spicy prawn soup), huge chilli prawns the size of lobsters, and special Ong creations. You can sit in the lounge at a long, communal table, or in the more formal air-conditioned dining room, or - best of all - outside on the verandah, under a single palm beside the candelit, turquoise pool.
